[xi-on] – UNDER FEST
Genre – Orchestral, instrumental
Hi everyone! It’s my first music related post in a while, as explained in my previous post. First up on the review list is an amazing album by xi-on, released a few weeks ago during Reitaisai 14.
Its been a long time since my last post. I hope that you are all doing well. As you guys probably already know, Reitaisai 14 happened recently and there is some great new music to listen to and write about. I’m sorry that I skipped over Comiket 91. I think I will eventually go back and review some albums, but I don’t think I will do an overview post on it. I’d rather move onto the more recent music from Reitaisai 14.
Part of the reason why I’ve been inactive here lately is because I’ve just been watching streams and playing games more often nowadays. I even started streaming some games myself on Twitch. Lately I’ve been streaming NieR Automata and Trails in the Sky the 3rd. I also stream Osu on weekends as well. I don’t have much of a schedule at the moment aside from sometimes weekdays 9pm-11pm EST and random times on weekends. If you guys are interested in watching me play Osu or JRPGs, please watch my stream at Twitch.tv/thegunner100.
Anyways, look forward to some Reitaisai 14 posts in the future! Frozen Starfall, Baguettes Ensemble, and xi-on have all had amazing albums this event. Alstroemeria Records is actually listenable this time around, with a very good compilation of Ayame’s tracks.
Happy Memorial Day to the American readers here and hopefully a decent monday for the rest of the world.
Til next time!

Months and 7 reviews later, here’s my Comiket 89 recap! I think I’ve listened to more albums this comiket than any other before. That being said though, there weren’t a significant amount of albums that I ended up liking. However, there were a couple of albums that really stood out to me this Comiket.

Merry Christmas everyone!
School is finally over for the semester, and that means another Comiket! But first of all… apologies for the lack of posts recently. Its been my hardest school semester yet, but at the same time the most rewarding. I’ve been keeping up with watching the Grisaia episodes of course, but I haven’t had the time to write about any of them since episode 3. The season is nearly over, so I’ll recap with my impressions of season 1 overall sometime later.
KanColle has grown immensely in popularity over the past year and as a result, many doujin groups have started to make arrangements based on KanColle themes. I haven’t heard that many, but foxfactory’s FlagshipS was fairly promising so I’m looking forward to hearing of KanColle. However, I don’t think I’ll get the same connection with the music just because I’m not familiar with either the original themes or the characters of the game. In that sense, I’ll stick with the Touhou albums for the most part.
Anyways, lets see what exciting new albums there are!

Another summer, another Comiket.
For those new to the doujin scene, Comiket is an event that happens twice a year: once in the summer and once in the winter, right before the year ends. It’s the biggest event where people and groups release and sell their doujin goods throughout the year.
Looking back at the last Comiket, there were some amazing releases but also some disappointments. My favorite album from C85 is Sepia Recollections by CROW’SCLAW and the biggest disappointment would have to be Alstroemeria Records’ DECADE OF EXPOSE.
After going through some crossfades and preview videos, Comiket summer is looking to be pretty good this year in both music and games.
Anyways, let’s take a look at some of Comiket 86’s releases by the usual doujin circles! Thanks to the people over at Doujinstyle for providing links! Check their thread out for the rest of the C86 album sites and crossfades.
